I know he plays the PG role cuz gay Thompson is a SG but curry shoots so much you'd have to think of him as a SG
top 3 three-point shooter ever, amazing free throw and overall shooter. of course in an NBA where big men are limited he can get away with a lot more than a PG could in the 80s or 90s.

I think clear positions are outdated at this point, in general. You could make a thread like this for Westbrook also. You could consider LeBron any position besides Center.

exactly what 7even said...positions in the nba are dead. backcourt positions are usually interchangeable, as are the bigs. nowadays, many small forwards bring the ball up almost as much as point guards do. so yea, the positions as we knew them are long gone. here was my new proposal for modern day nba positions.
primary ball handler
wing 1
wing 2
front court 1
front court 2
so for the cavs, it would looks something like:
pbh: lebron james
w1: kyrie irving
w2: jr smith
fc1: kevin love
fc2: timofey mozgov
since lebron acts as a point guard, he takes the position of "primary ball-handler". it makes much more sense than the outdated positions, which are clearly no-longer in effect.
