yes they changed distributor. but the old distributor (101) will still be shifting the number of units they initially agreed to, including pre-orders. thing is.. 101 took money at time of order, not at time of ship.. which i dont like.

All yall who say it doesn't hurt sales to leak on the net are DREAMING.  I get so much crap on my computer that I never buy.  Back in the day, I would go buy everything that came out, now I just download it, and only buy the stuff I really, really, really like a lot.  I'm buying like 5 cd's a year or something, when I used to buy 20.  You can say "oh, they're crappy albums, so they shouldn't get bought, we should be able to preview them" and all that all you want, but the fact still remains that it DOES hurt sales, whether it's a bad album or a good album.  I go to the flea market every week, and they've got tables full of bootlegged albums, you mean that don't hurt sales?  This dude's up there selling 50 copies a weekend of the latest snoop album, you think those 50 people are gonna go buy a legit version too, or weren't gonna buy the album?

so what the hell are artists gonna do?  Shut down the internet?  All albums are going to hit the net and get bootlegged, that is inevitable.  Artists are just going to have to figure out a way to get around it, or they are just going to die.  Maybe this can be good, and it will force artists to step up their abilities and put out better quality music.  Or it could be horrible and everyone will end up sounding like nelly and ja rule.  Either way, they gonna have to deal wit it.  Like this album wasn't going to hit the net?  Like I said in another post, if you remember being on irc last year when the eminem show was ripped, I had never seen so many people trying to get that album off irc.  yet it still sold millions of copies.  50 cent sold millions, and he makes gangsta rap (I think, haven;'t heard much).  It is not impossible to do, they just need to put out excellent music instead of average music.  (not to say many excellent albums get overlooked and lack sales too).  and like I said a fan of daz such as myself will buy the album regardless.  I d/l it, and I will still buy it probably the day it drops here.  since I have been able to d/l albums off the net I have bought probably at least 100 albums, all of which I could have easily downloaded.  I don't buy everything I d/l  cause I would be broke, but I still support a lot of artists.  A lot of fans like to have the og copy of it for collections.

AC, I agree with you, there's nothing they can do about it.  Music by definition is heard, and anything heard can be recorded and bootlegged.  There's no way around it at all.

To take the stance that it doesn't hurt sales, though, is crazy.  I hear all the time, "it still sold 8 million!" (like em's album)... SO?  Just because it did good, he doesn't have a right to bitch?  A millionaire shouldn't care that he had a million stolen, since he has another million in the bank? That's B.S.  

Look @ Thriller.  Everybody liked it, and you couldn't bootleg it at the time, you had to buy the original record, or tape.  It was high quality, and he sold 50-60 million copies of it.  HE COULD NEVER do that today, everybody'd just bootleg it.  The most any artist is going to ever sell is 15 or so million, anything above that is impossible.  

I'm not saying there's a way to stop it, I just get pissed when people act like it doesn't hurt sales.  It SERIOUSLY hurts sales... maybe by as much as 50 percent or so.
