I guess this comes back to how artists are encouraged to produce what sells so I think as consumers some of the responsibility of glorifying negatives lies with us too. If we demanded more respectful and honest content from artists and refused to buy perverse or derogatory art then they'd stop producing it.
Some people say artists just depict real life for people who can relate to it. But if you wanna be motivated by art you consume then I guesse its on you for feeding into derogatory content.
