Starting a race war is now juicier for the politicians and mainstream media.

so you think the protests are fake?
you don’t believe there’s racial injustice in this country??

Nah its not a either/or situation.
The George Floyd situation is a tragedy. One that happens every day unfortunately whch is why all of this si finally coming to a head.
However, now that this si the new juicy news story that's getting news ratings, suddenly coronavirus isnt gonna wipe out the world like the media had you believe up until last week.
You always follow the money and there's a lot more money to be made off BLM and the exploiting racial tension in the US.
You're a smart dude. I'm sure you can see there is more than meets the eye in all of this. Fear & emotion = $$$

i understand what you’re insinuating
i guess my question is whether you believe systemic racism and white supremacy is as huge an issue as the media is making it out to be or whether you think the extent of it is being overblown.
--- End quote ---
To answer your question: not at all. I do question how genuine a lot of people are about their outrage over some shit that as been happening for hundreds of years though. Both authority and white people who think the thing to do is post up a black box to feel like they are standing up for their black friends. Not all, but many.

i noticed you didnt partake in blackout tuesday........to me, it's more a symbol of solidarity and displaying understanding in the depth of the system in place. a lot of people truly believe white supremacy is a made up thing and have no idea why black people are upset right now.

I think its great that these discussions are taking place now and I feel that people will have a better understanding of systemic racism now. A lot of people really don't get it and think because "I have a black friend" or "we had a black president" means all problems have been solved.
Now I didn't participate in #blackouttuesday because I don't do sheep things. You're not gonna see me do a #challenge or TikTok dance either. Most people posting black boxes didn't even realize that they were hurting the BLM movement by drowning out week/months/years of BLM info with a bunch of black boxes. Whoever organized that one didn't think it through lol.
Speaking of the BLM movement, if I really wanted to ruffle some feathers I am not the biggest proponent of BLM to begin with. That is a whole nother discussion though.

Matty:
no lockdown. it's a short-sighted overeaction from the political class with the by-product being a fertile testing ground seeing where people are with authority. and we have the answer it's not good news when they want to put the squeeze on with a police state. 99% will just roll over and accept it with no cohesive reasoning, any old bogeyman will suffice if it's for the 'greater good'. as someone said earlier the virus has killed few people of reasonable age without serious existing conditions. nowhere near enough to where you would close down entire economies to protect. advising the most vunerable to isolate was the correct response and everyone could have chipped in to make sure those people got their essentials. fraction of the cost the lockdown.
the economic fallout will damage people's lives far more than the virus ever could. good news is collapse of the IMF$ system is now firmly on the horizon, bad news is normal people without access to a printing press will be far poorer with inflation on essential goods. going to be a turning point one way or the other pretty soon.

good spit...
...and btw...Sccit... how you enjoying that second round of lockdowns in Cali, Sccit? How bout them Lakers? That's got to be fun right?!?
Let's test a bunch of healthy, asymptomatic athletes and then make them sit out two weeks if they test positive even if they are 100% healthy and fine. That sounds like a good idea, right?
And lol@Major League Baseball. The Royals have nobody to play the catcher position when they start play in a week because all their catchers tested positive--so they have to sit out 2 weeks. The irony of it is, is that all 5 of the Royals players who tested positive are 100% healthy and asymptomatic but they still have to sit out anyway.
Amazing... Imagine a virus so dangerous that if nobody tested you, you would not even know you had it--and you would continue on with your life just fine!
If not for all the propoganda America would of continued on just fine this year, and we would of had a normal year, and at the very worst people would of just thought it was nothing more than maybe a bad flu season. Health officials, politicians, and media created a crisis where there wasn't one. Then they shut down countries and limited the world's ability to overcome and try to combat challenges. There will always be challenges in life. Last I checked you are supposed to stand up to challenges, be brave, and look for innovative solutions. Shutting down and telling everyone to stay home is not a solution. Nor is covering your face up with a mask and compromising your breathing.
I'm out there on the front lines. I went out to the plaza in KC and busted (busking) a fucking 30 minute freestyle against the KC Mayor Lucas for mandating masks. Right there in front of everybody in what is the equivalent to the town square. You might as well of called me crying, Brian... Because I served the function of the "town cryer"! I busted a mean freestyle on some shit like,
"You try to put a mask on me/
You say I got to wear a mask-just-to-be-me/
Tell me I can't breathe naturally/
Cause Bill Gates wants to put a vaccine inside-of-me/
Telling me that I ain't free/
Stay at home doggy/
muzzle up and erase the face/
I got to wear a mask to occupy public space/
Fuck that, and to that I won't adapt/
Scared folks stay home in your masks and bubble wraps/
.... (and so on)...."
Then, I've gotten kicked out of a couple quick trips. I ain't making it easy on these fascists so they are gonna have to chase me down if they want me to wear a mask. At Quik Trip walking in with no mask,
"Sir, you need to have a mask"
"I have a medical condition," I say and keep it moving, (because HIPPA Laws don't allow them to ask you about your medical condition)
Usually at that point they leave me alone. If they still try to kick me out and I don't absolutely need whatever I went in to by then I don't leave without giving the whole store a wake up call....
"YOU PEOPLE ARE SCARED AND YOU ARE NOT STANDING UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT!!!"
