Because I don't understand what the obsession is in rap of forcing ourselves to listen to new shit. I want to create a movement of people that dig into classics and document and discuss.. hip-hop historian

...I spent my time in much more worthwhile pursuit, diggin in the crates for gems. Found a lot of uncovered treasure from the early 90's Pre-Chronic era. I didn't become a head until the Chronic dropped, so the only rap I really was into before that was like Wrex in Effect, Young MC, and a little bit of LL like pop hits like "Mama Said Knock You Out".
...So to dig a bit deeper and see the shit that groups like Das Effex, EPMD, Black Sheep, Kool G Rap, Masta Ace, MC Lyte, even Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane were still making noise then.. KRS was still droppin prime level material like I think "Love's Gonna Get Ya" didn't drop till early 90's.. there is just so much great classic material there to dive into with the 90-92 era

I agree. I've been going back to the 80s since I got into my 30s. There's great stuff even from around 86. Rakim, KRS, BDK, Run DMC, Beastie Boys, The DOC, NWA, Eazy E, Slick Rick, EPMD. Like you said.

No doubt dogg this what the fucc I been sayin don't understand why more headz don't support diggin in crates for gems as opposed to bumpin inferior new shit
..and everytime I say this muthefuckaz either try to claim they were up on every single rapper and every album that was ever fuckin produced and that they never slept on a single artist or track in their entire life (even before they were born or old enough to understand)
Or they give me the stuck in the past shit, which I actually wear as a badge of honor and don't take as a pejorative, check the name on the sig mufuckaz its INFINITE TRAPPED IN 96' That's who the fuck I am and who the fucc I beez!!
Sccit:
i haven't bought music in a minute
been too focused on making music to consume the new shit comin out the way i was when i was on a hiatus
and my collection is all outa sorts so i'd prolly have to organize it to motivate me
