All of this hype made me finally check out his catalogue post Documentary:

Pro:
Great ear for beats/track sequencing
Can flow almost as good as whoever he's biting
Good voice
Decent mastering

Hoe:
Horrendous amount of name drops
Ridiculous amount of features
Couldn't structure a song to save his life
Hooks are terrible
Zero content bars, literally a whole load of saying nothing most of the time
Has no sound/personality of his own

Last point is super obvious with features as he just jacks their flow/content and rides with it. But the hook, ye gads, the hooks. They're so bad they almost make you want to turn the track off which is the opposite of what they're supposed to do.

Can't figure how he can study other peoples rhyme schemes and hasn't learn how to bite a catchy hook. Best one was Lets Ride but thats an obvious 50 knock off with Dre imitating verses (nailed his flow/tone).

If he'd played his position in G Unit and had 50 helping him behind the scenes he could've gone down as an all time great as he's got the talent and work ethic but much like Snoop needs someone elses direction to reign him in and give him structure otherwise its just dial it in time. Could make a great living as a ghostwriter for verses only.

Verdict:

If this is the best of the West in the past 20 years then I didn't miss much.

Does anybody likes that second Kendrick song? I really thought that song was fucking boring. West side story from the game would be much doper than that song.
