Probably the same reason why they sampled George Clinton in the past? It has to do with status more than sales, you have 2 Icons sampling a Legend, so I am not mad at the idea. Also, musically Snoop name isn't as powerful anymore. Though famous, his music is not reaching that level of success. So with Dre and Jimmy on board, he will be able to reach that level of success again musically. Hence why you see him doing press with major companies or platform, it's mostly about the product than the music, but it will align.

Today I'm almost sure we won't get it at least not fully produced by Dre. Maybe 1 or 2 songs will end up on next random Snoop's project.

Exactly, it's literally same thing all over again.
When he had the Beats thing going on, he was talking about Detox non stop, saying how it was just couple mixes away from the completion and how the album will be there in a couple of months.
