dont get me wrong i love the chronic but yeah the very same tracks RBX is on... although he a dope MC, its the production that lacks on those tracks...

some people just want to be different for the sake of being different, the general consensus on all coasts is that the Chronic is nothing but a 5 mic classic

Yeah that happens a lot with music; a lot of times people are afraid to state the obvious because they think if they do they will appear like a casual fan.  So people can’t state the obvious like albums like All Eyez On Me or Eminem Show or Chronic people can’t say these albums are perfect they have to find something wrong with them and split hairs just to make their opinion stand out.

They are okay with saying Nas Illmatic is 5 mics (which it is) because the album wasn’t a big album commercially.  But if it had been a diamond selling album they would’ve tried to find some flaw in that album as well like saying the intro was too long or some shit… or it didn’t have enough songs on it…

He wanted to make fun of the album but couldn't because RBX raps better than most. He hates the West but secretly does call the album a classic but not a classic because he thinks RBX saved the album due to lyricism. He calls it a classic when its a joke. He hates A-B-C rhymes

Agreed.  I almost said, "they are fine with giving Nas 5 mics because it was an East Coast album" but instead I pointed out the fact it wasn't a major commercial release at the time.  I mean, I was only 12 years old at that rhyme (time), but was already a hip-hop head and I didn't even know the Illmatic album existed until after "If I Ruled The World" blew up in 96' and I was like "Damn, they really ride this Nas guy's dick for some reason."  I was a fan of the song so I checked out It Was Written and was like.. "Nah this dude ain't all that."  It wasn't till 1999 I ever gave Illmatic a chance.

But anyway, yeah, no doubt, if Chronic was an East Coast album it would've had 5 mics for sure and no complaints

We all have slightly different tastes.

I love RBX’s voice and style but I can see why he might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Dre was hitting you with different styles and flavors on the Chronic in a way that's never been done before and not really ever been done since.  So at the very least you would appreciate RBX as playing his role and bringing some added ingredients to the record, and at most you would believe in him the way Dre believed with him at the time--some have said Dre had RBX pinpointed to be a next big solo act on Death Row, and then had him designated again to be the first big solo artist on Aftermath. "Blunt Time" was a big time banger for on Aftermath Presents and ahead of its time.
