I like the cube single better than snoop and Dre’s single
damn .. u were wrong on the hip hop side and the commercial side EA Ski and Ice Cube will forever be a dope combo this proves that staying true to your core audience is always the way to go Snoop & Dre need to take notes
I'm still thinking the same about it is outdated, not special at all. But im wrong that i was thinking it was going to be unsuccesful. However this single "my ego" doesnt have a meaning like ice cube is staying true to his core audience. This was never ice cube's sound in any of his prime days. Yeah it sounds west coast, a cheap one but west coast has different variety of sounds and this one doesnt belongs to ice cube type of west coast.Aint got no haters single was the ice cube old type of shit for example.

Yeah "you know how we do it" might be one of his best records ever. What i meant with "meaning" is my ego sound doesnt have a meaning to claim that it is staying true to his core fanbase. Ice cube never did this type of west coast songs in his prime days like 90s and early 2000s. I dont mean he only did political songs. No he did "hello", "fuck dying", "it was a good day", "bow down", "bop gun", "gangsta rap made me do it", etc... any new songs refers to these type of songs may have a meaning to staying true to his core audience. Give me an example please, a hit of ice cube from late 90s and earl whixh sounds like "my ego" type of music.I am saying there are different type of west coast hip hop music, lots of subgenres. Ice cube did a lot of classic west coast music, but my ego type cheap midi type of beat, naah he never did that.

I think he's talking about the clavinet sound in the beat. Everybody makes cheap midi beats with a midi keyboard connected to the computer these days. That clavinet could be deep sampled 24 layers.
