that’s why i’m saying .. remixes have always been both. new vocals or new beat.. or both

puffy even claims to have invented the remix lol

Right.  But show me a recent remix with a reworked beat and lyrics

Love this track!  But I said “recent”…wasn’t this song on the Belly soundtrack late 90’s?

I get that you have a grudge
I haven't exactly presented myself very well here
Life was pretty chaotic back then
I apologise
But you could be my king now since I got my tattoo covered
Ah, that's so sweet. No I don't have a grudge and there is no need to apologize. I was just acting. I actually welcome your insanity.
2 Corinthians 6:8
By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

6:9
As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

That’s a great one for sho.  Do any remixes exist nowadays with different beats/lyrics?  Remember when even clean versions were different (I ain’t mad at ya, pour out a little liquor )

it’s rare .. because having a different beat AND different lyrics pretty much makes it a new song more than a remix

The real remix time was old Death Row days - that were real remixes!

Here’s the type of remix I can really appreciate : a brand new beat and a different last verse from the OG.  Such a sick bassline and overall best by QD3 that it almost rivals the original version

I think those days are really over, but that's also due to the digital world and the production possibilities these days! someone had mentioned the public enemy pete rock remix or the 50 Control remix, OC - Word...Life (Remix), M.O.P. Rugged Neva Smoove (DJ Premier Remix), The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World (Green-Eyed Remix), Ice Cube What Can I Do? (Remix), Black Moon Buck Em' Down (Da Beatminerz Remix), back in the vinyl days there was usually a remix on the single from a well-known or popular producer at the time. Pete Rock & Dj Premier were simply always there at the time at the start, Lord Finesse, Diamond D, Havoc, LArge Professor, Da Beatminerz, Nick Wiz kept releasing remixes, I just miss the time, tracks like A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario (Remix)

Exactly…which is why it’s so crazy that used to happen pretty often. Just showed that the rappers and producers just had great beats and ideas for days.
