It wasn’t meant to be respectful, that part was “tongue in cheek”. As for Safe n Sound, I just applaud the effort! Lastly, I could give a fuck about American politics really; hope your country enjoys Tulsi Gubbard and Matt Gaetz! In Canada, we have our own political worries as, like America, it’s more of a lesser-of-two-evils situation than it is a party/politician who can serve our country best. Trump could have potential, but spends far too much time putting out self-induced fires and focusing on self-serving agendas to really accomplish any real change. And if America really goes “America first”, it creates a power vacuum on the international stage which will increasingly (as was under the case in the Obama years too) be filled by China and Russia. But whatever the case, Cube sounds tired on the mic (ABC rhymes and lazy flow) BUT the production on these tracks is bangin, especially So Sensitive. Shaping up to be a good album
cube sounds good … he’s always had a simple-yet-direct style …. this is no different from the way he was spittin with WSC ….. his voice and flow fit the production well.
This is where I admit I didn’t like WSCG…last Cube album I loved was Lethal Injection
You didn’t like the War or Peace albums? Many classic tracks on thise
It’s My Ego getting heavy radio play in Vegas
I like some tracks here and there on each Cube album, but it was just such a drastic drop off in terms of album-quality after Lethal Injection.
bow down is a classic
Bow Down was a regional classic, similar as Dogg Food. Mainly because it’s the subject matter of BD was repping the west coast to the fullest and calling out the east coast journalistic bias at times that was going on. A lot of fans east of say Texas wasn’t feeling that album like that but to me it’s an undeniable classic and essential. WSGC and even Pac was riding for a lot of the same issues, it’s a shame Pac only seen it as a style bite or money grab for Cube
That’s just it; Cube benefited immensely from working with the Bomb Squad and got MAD love on the East Coast so I hated to see him switch up (but looking back, it’s understandable enough)

Ice Cube says new album ‘Man Down’ is exposing the truth that it’s time for men to man upCube says that society has been turned upside down because “everybody a little too sensitive right about now.”Ice Cube is not here to make people feel comfortable with his new album, Man Down, which is slated for a Nov. 22 release. The project features 19 tracks and guest appearances from the likes of Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short, October London, Kurupt, Xzibit and a few others. Thus far, he has dropped off singles like “Ego Maniacs” and “It’s My Ego.”The body of work signifies the West Coast icon’s first solo LP since 2018’s Everythang’s Corrupt. He has already promised it is “the album my fans have been waiting on” in a tweet published earlier this month. In a new interview for Complex’s “Idea Generation,” the Compton-bred rapper said that the compilation of songs, like others in his lengthy discography, would be an unfiltered lyrical examination of the world from Cube’s perspective.“If I ain’t making somebody mad, I’m not doing something right, and it’s not like that’s my purpose, but the truth shows all blemishes, you know, the mirror… Some people don’t like the truth. But if you ugly, you can’t blame it on the mirror,” he told interviewer Noah Callahan-Bever. One of the truths Cube is tackling is the fact that, “Everybody a little too sensitive right about now.”On the record’s third track, “So Sensitive,” the N.W.A. co-founder raps, “N**ga, facts over feelings, f**k your feelings, we ain’t the villain/ And this ain’t a drill, gotta keep it real, f**k how you feel.” Even the album’s title is symbolic of the theme. “The name of the record is Man Down, so hopefully the next record is Man Up,” Cube said. “It’s like we can’t keep apologizing for who we are just to make other people take over and [be] comfortable. That’s really, you know, what’s turning this society upside down if you ask me,” he added.Further into his and Callahan-Bever’s conversation, he more pointedly shared his take on things. He explained, “A lot [of] men are just sitting around watching the show and not, not doing what they need to do to make sure everything is going right. Everybody is worried about how they feel — that’s the change… Forget doing what you need to do, doing what’s right, doing what’s supposed to be done. It’s all about how you feel, and [if] you don’t feel like it, you don’t do it. Nobody feel like it, nothing get done.”
