Mets and Dodgers have 1 thing in common...inconsistency

the Dodgers just swept the Padres recently and now down 0-2 in the series in San Diego

the Mets have won 2 straight against the Braves hitting the ball all over the field but lost 2 of 3 against the Nationals the series before

but the main thing is to get in the playoffs which both teams will do and get on a hot streak anything can happen in a short series

That’s nothing homie…. There’s a great quote by the great Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda who was before your time but was a huge personality of the 80’s…

He said, “Every team wins 60 and every team loses 60, it’s what you do with the games in the middle that counts.”

Dodgers have got to get to 60+ losses one way or another so every good team has that low point in the year.  So unless there was some big injuries or trade deadline issues I’m not aware of I still think you will be fine.

Also, another interesting factor is that statistically there is actually no such thing as going into the postseason hot or cold.  The Sabermetrics guys took statistics of all teams entering the playoffs hot and cold and found no correlation to their postseason performance.

Meaning that teams who falter at the end of the regular season still do well in the postseason just as much as teams that go in on a hot streak.

yea that's why baseball is gay

i mean i like baseball

but in basketball, you go into the playoffs hot and it absolutely means something

momentum and energy is much bigger in basketball than in baseball

Yeah, baseball is a screwy game.  That's why they call it a "game of failure."  Because the best anyone has ever hit is Ted Williams hit .400 but that still means he failed at the plate more than he succeeded.
