Beats are wack. Souple of them is cool, but rest is garbage. Pusha and malice sounded good. Malice pen is crazy.
Fantastic album. Pusha and Malice are 48 and 52, and both rap flawlessly throughout. I’ve never been a huge Pharrell or Clipse fan, but this album is easily the best rap album so far this year. Highlights: So Be It (wtf is this best?! Incredible song)EDITBA (I had no idea Pharrell could produce like this)FICOChains and Whips (Kendrick MUrDERs this with the uncharacteristic wordplay)Birds Don’t Sing (each brother raps about their recent parents deaths)Aside from the first track, this album is as hard as bricks. Straight rhymes (mainly about coke lol, but they do explore other topics, especially Malice). 8/10
Album of the year and nothing has come close tbh.
These guys just showed the rest of the vets the blueprint:Stick to your original sound and just update it slightly. While I enjoyed the Snoop and Dre album and still am listening to some tracks, they should’ve given the fans what we all wanted (a mix of that Deathrow and early 2000s aftermath sound). That shit is a layup. This Clipse album rivals the final Tribe album to me as an example of how a veteran group can be relevant in the modern era if they put out quality shit and stick to what the OG fans want.
off topcube and daz did it tooeven dogg pound came wit that original sound xzibit and snoop both went in a whole nother direction unfortunately
It is overhyped. It is a good album. SOme wack beats.
What are the “wack” beat? To me, the album falls off on the last three songs, BUT the first ten more than deliver…give this album a 90s classic type of feel.
