In the movie, I think Tyler was the name of the boxer, but yeah, they call him "Tyler the Executioner".  But then the one who shot him was a Palestinian guy named Rabat.

...but yeah, there are many more connections you can make.  Even some are making the connection with Palestine being a subject Charlie had recently talked about and Palestine being another connection to the movie.

There are many more like also Chalie's death happening around Sept 11 (Sept 10th I think) and the many connections with that date
