I dont know

he posted a pic with him and few other rappers including Masta Killa and the god Rakim the other day with the caption new music from everyone in 2026 for whatever thats worth

I know we all want the album ASAP, but releasing an album right before Christmas isn't a good move from a marketing perspective. Honestly, i'd hold off on the release too.

I think this album would get much more traction for an April release, right when the weather is getting nice again.  Kurupt's albums play so much better with that warm weather vibe.

How many people buy albums anymore? Let's just say Kurupt did a lot of promoting - how many albums would you expect him to sell vs if he just dropped it today? I'd say 10K difference maybe at most.

If snoop's missionary didn't do well, then you can pretty much forget any other old school westcoast artist ever selling well again. Missionary was hyped for so long and had a ton of promotion. Kurupt will never get even close to that kind of traction.

These guys have a very small audience. I wish they would just make the kind of music for their audience and understand that they have peaked long ago with their stardom, and probably not going to make a ton of money going forward with the music. Might as well just make music you love and have fun doing.

Snoop has a huge audience. Missionary just wasn’t good. At all.

Exactly, which is why they aren't rushing this.  This could very well be Kurupt's last solo album.  Make sure it's done the right way and not just haphazardly drop it out of the blue one day with no buzz.

Then you shouldn't announce the album six months or more before its release. One to two months is enough. Most West Coast rap fans like Battlecat, and Kurupt too. It has the potential to be successful.

"Successful" for these artists ia subjective now.

They have to be doing for the love of it and long term royalty and legacy.

I don't think they are doing music to survive at this point.
