you're damn right I was bumping Warren G in '94 along and I was still listening to Doggystyle and then the Murder Was The Case soundtrack in the fall 8)

man I love Daz too but I really didn't feel his delivery on this record ;D

On the Midwest we didn't even know Illmatic existed when it came out

yeah it wasn't big nation wide...even here in NYC it was mostly word of mouth and the streets, my cousin had the bootleg cassette and we would listen to it...no airplay for the singles on the radio whatsoever...it wasn't until a couple of years later when he blew up commercially
