Dear Dad — I mean Daz (part 2)

<< < (2/2)

Soopafly DPGC:
Daz didn't have time to write you a letter this time, he's busy working on albums, but i'll fill you in what he told me on the phone when i read this to him:

"I'm a rapper, not a role model, i'm here to make music.  You should be looking up to your parents, teachers, etc. not to some gangster rapper you don't even know.  I don't have to validate my actions to you or anyone else.  I have zero interest in begging and pleading for online fans to love me.  When you're a celebrity, you'll find out pretty quickly that you're in a lose/lose situation with online people, so you just need to do what you do and let the chips fall where they may, nah what i mean"

Sorry Daz wasn't more invested in writing you a well thought out letter this time.  We had a further discussion, but the gist of it is he wants you to just enjoy the music and not worry about whatever goes on in his personal life.

Please tell Daz that I never knew my father growing up — and didn't meet him till I was 37 and that was our one and only meeting because he said he's just an anonymous sperm donor and not legally obligated.

So in his absence I always had Daz and Suge as my father/role models.  And Suge has stayed TRUE for the most part and if Daz doesn't love me and care for me like he should then I'm gonna choose Suge as my father.

So tell Daz that and then see if he cares

He wanted me to ask you to show how many albums of his you've bought. Especially in the last five years. He said if you were really a good son, you would have supported his work moreso than simply going online and listening to it.

I have nothing to show for the last years dad.. I mean Daz.

Dad I feel that I failed you.  I know these excuses won't eliminate my failures as a son to buy all your records and give you more money--but I actually stopped buying your albums after RAW.  RAW was the last album I bought.  I thought without a major label behind you, that you became sloppy.  Sure Dad.. I mean Daz, that album certainly had it's bangers.  My speakers were bumpin down the street.. wit.. nuthin but bass..

But the album failed to save my life the way you saved my life before on Doggystyle, Dogg Food, and RRGB.  And that's what I expect of you.  If I am in a bad period in my life then you are supposed to fix it, the way you fix it with your "Doggy Dogg World" music video, and the way you fixed it by driving the car in a cool way in the "New York, New York" video.  See.. you were laid back then, and just playing the background to Kurupt.  Since, it's like you've became an attention whore.

Plus, as good as RRGB was you failed to go double platinum and surpass the evils  of No Limit/Ruff Ryders/Rockafella/Bad Boy, failed to save the West Coast and failed save Death Row.

So maybe it is you who failed me?
