Nate Dogg - It's A Wonderful Life unreleased Album

(1/13) > >>

Mr. Sunshine:
What happened to Nate Dogg's unreleased album It's A Wonderful Life ? The album was officially announced in late 2012 by Seven Arts Music and United Media & Music Group, with an initial target release date in the first half of 2013 feat. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Mary J. Blige

Jay_J:
i dont think its a finished album. so it will never come out i guess.

gfunk2024:
It seems nearly impossible to get new music released from artists who have passed away. Too much fighting from the estate, the label(s) involved, and then the featured artists/producers. It is sad, because these people are gone, the music is already recorded, and most people will never hear it.

Soopafly DPGC:
Too much tied up in the estate.  It's not profitable to release albums anymore.  By the time you pay for mixing, mastering, sample clearance, production of actual product, etc....the estates would rather just have the money and be done with it.  They don't have the passion or love for the music like the original artist had.  9 times out of 10 fans don't like the posthumous release and it taints the artist's legacy, thus, costing the estate money in the long run.  From a financial standpoint, there's no reason to do it.

Mr. Sunshine:
perfectly understandable, but just take a look at the artists, or rather the labels and see how many millions they've made from a Nate Dogg feature.
Let's take an example. That was a mega hit.
Area Codes (feat. Nate Dogg)

Good Relationships (Ludacris Feat. Katt Williams, Nate Dogg & Snoop Dogg)
And you're trying to tell me that this guy doesn't have enough cash? He clearly couldn't care less, but if I were sitting on tracks like these, I'd release them for free.
