-==QUESTION ABOUT AMERICAN FOOTBALL==-

<< < (2/9) > >>

Sikotic™:
Nah dog. The rugby players are like the size of NFL quarterbacks. The linemen are like 250-300 pounds.

The Big Bad Ass:
Show me a gang of 6'7 360 pound rugby players, and I'll agree with you sayin they are the same size.

bez:
rugby players wud kick the shit outer football players. End of.

M Dogg™:
After actually playing American  football for 6 years, and Rugby for a little bit, I can say that it's simply 'cause it's easier to have players last long. Football is faster pace, 'cause it's a straight explosion sport, Rugby is more of a paced sport. Hence a hit in Football is a lot harder than a hit in Rugby. Plus, if I'ma drop 3 million a year for a football player, I would want him to last longer than 3 games. Fuck toughness, that's for dump Austrailians and English to argue over, I want to win with the best players. Therefore, if my all-pro runningback is gonna play, I want him for the whole 16 games, not playing every game risking injury. Injurys are bad enough in the NFL with great players lasting only 5-7 years like Terell Davis, and Jamal Anderson, why risk other young players.  Some players can hang and play 18 years like Jerry Rice, Clay Mathews whos a lineback which is the toughest man on the field, and other greats. That's be fuck to end your multi-million dollar career  'cause of being tough. And all the pads have evolved from all the deaths and injuries of Footballs past. Football evolved from Rugby in 188-something, and had no pads. Rules changed as responds to situations and deaths. Keep you toughness, I prefer playing for fun instead of dying over pride.

Jay ay Beee:
I don't care about the pads argument, pads are far more sensible like M Dogg said, it's a game safety first, and Gridiron players are generally bigger than Rugby players.

However I think it is very disturbing (and I've raised this before) that your games are often controlled by adverts. lol.  That's dumb.  The Superbowl is the biggest game in Gridiron right?  And "tha superbowl stops every 4-5 minutes cuz its cuz of advertisements an shit".  Imagine the biggest game in all of sport, the World Cup Final in football (soccer) having to stop every 5 minutes?  Isn't this capitalism gone too far?
