Football has been played worldwide for over a hundred years, it belongs to everyone who plays/watches/supports it, whoever they are, wherever they are, thats part of the glory of the sport IMO.

It belongs to the whole World

Thus when we have a World Cup we have teams from every continent - Australasia will get a place in the next one.

Unlike 'World Series' consisting of 14 US teams and 2 Canadian teams.

So I would be happy that it gets love in the States

BTW the US national team is now rated in the latest FIFA rankings as 8th in the World.
