^ I didn't know about that movie, but going from this, I don't think you can speak of a "remake", "Fear and Loathing" is a movie based quite exactly on the semi-autobiographical episode described in that book, while "Where the Buffalo Roam" seems to be based on several episodes of Thompson's life
