The ROC without Jay? (speculation only!)

This isn't a rumour or anything, just straight off the top of my head, but...

What do you think Jay's plans are for after The Black Album? There's an interview with Dame Dash in this week's NME and he says of Jay's retirement:

"It's time for us to be independent and do without Jay."

Which got me thinking - do you think Jay will sell his share of the label to Dame and get out the game? I only thought of it because I remember Westwood interviewing Jay two years ago and asking him the secret of business success.

Jay said something like: "If you build an empire, sell it at its peak. There's no point in building a success story and then sitting on it, the only way you'll make money is to sell it once its made."

That's not an exact quote, but the gist is there.

What do people think? Could the Roc be a success if Jay wants out after this album?

hiphopsite seem to think that Jay will start his own label with the help of Def Jam, could be a good thing

I think it could happen Jay selling up at the Roc cause
he want's to go of and do his own thing and Rocafella is'int
really all his. But I can't think of the Roc with out Jigga!

Also It would be really fuckin' smart business move if Jay
sold up, can you imagine what he would get for it!!

yeah the situation on tha roc was allways interesting
signing artists like camron who isnt jays best friend at all....now mop...we will see
