Dr. Dre is my first choice...and in a distant second place i would have to go with Dj Quik and a close third place i would have to give to Fred Wreck :)

only one on that list who is no par with Quik is Premo, the others are all dope but none can do it as good or consistent as Quik

Pleeeeeeeeeeeezzzzz...  ::)
RZA, Havoc, Alchemist, Dr.Dre, Primo and Muggs are all legendary producers, and they all have at least the same or better and bigger track-record than Quik does.
And at least 3-4 of them are more innovative.

i love all of those producers but the thing with Quik is to look at his track record, his beats have remained constantly dope, whereas the others have not

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Apparently more people agree with me, than with you.
The people I mentioned is all applauded acknowledged legends..
DJ Quik just isn't that dope or innovative to a lot of people.

if you think i dont know a lot about music because i like Quik you are completely off. DJ Quik is more than a producer, he is a MUSICIAN! What other producers play their own instruments in rap music? Who else makes beats as good as they did when they started 12 years later? Nobody but Quik. Name some bad Quik beats, they're still better than 90% of the shit out there
