I dont get what is wrong with them buying good players.  I mean its like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United, they might have alot of good players but its just a team.  Money aint everything, if they buy a good player the other team just needs all there players to play well on the day.

Nah it's different.

First of all the Yankees buy players, with no intention of really playing them much, just so other teams can't use them.  For example it's like United buying El Hadji Diouf just so Liverpool can't have him and United never playing him.  

Secondly Baseball is far less a team sport than Football (Soccer).  While there is considerable teamwork in the fielding, the pitcher (one player) is far more important to the team than anyone else.  

You can't really compare the two.

But Tom can't say the Yankees have definitely brought themselves the World Series cause wtf happened last year? Nothing is certain.
