NFL - Emmitt Smith To Become The Greatest...

(1/2) > >>

Big BpG:
Sup Yall, well  NFL Pre-Season is only about 7 Weeks away and I'm already excited to see how the Cowboys perform this year. However, besides their season,  Emmitt Smith has the chance to become the greatest Running Back In NFL History. He only needs 539 yds. to achieve this. By doing it, he will surpass Walter Payton for the all-time record. Most analysts believe he will pass him during Mid-Season... now, basically, the purpose of this post is to see what you guys think of this. Will Emmitt recieve a warming welcome to this new Record, or will fans find away to take the excitement away  from it... also if you have a favorite Emmitt Smith moment post it too, or if you would just like to comment on this , do that as well. I hope he stays healthy.

My Favorite Emmitt Moment
This play actually came off of a reception, not a run, but Smith had caught about a three yd dump pass at about the 11 yd line, when he started to run forward, a Cardinal player from behind, jumped on his back, while two others tried to catch him from his left and right. Emmitt slowed down immediatley and started falling to the turf, and just before he hits the ground, he does a little hop,  squirms free from all three defenders and takes off running... he ran about 87 yards all the way down to the Cardinal 2 yd line. It was a shame he was forced out of bounds, but the play itself was amazing. Happened in 1993.

The Big Bad Ass:
I'm a Walter Payton fan, so personally, I don't want to see Emmit break it. He just isn't as fun to watch as Walter was. If Barry Sanders would have broken it, I would have enjoyed that, cause he was fun to watch too. I guess I just don't like runners like ES.

Well, yea, Sanders was going to break the record a few years ago, then he simply retired... and smith, with his own style, is doing better than Payton was... sure, smith isn't a slashing, fast player. He's patient, waits for his blocks and just makes players miss, but it works and thats why he is where he is, about to crowned the greatest running back of all time.
