The Neptunes presents...CLONES
« on: August 31, 2003, 01:49:10 PM »
Today I wen to best buy to pick up my copy of "Re-up" {Ras Kass}...
and of course the bastard's didn't have it...
Went ot my local Swap meet to grab me a copy of
"Don't go to sleep" {Makaveli & Dillinger}...
and of course the bastard's didn't have that either...
So i settled for a copy of "I got love in these street's" {Daz}

But I felt fucken empty handed...cause I didn't get what I wanted.
So I went back to Best buy & bought
"The Neptunes presents...CLONES"
on a pure humm Bugg!! but was rather surprised at how simple yet bangin' when taken from a Neptunes point of view...this lp was.
I mean if u expect that sound, u will not be disapointed...lol
It's hard to explain, but I was rather satisfied with it.

Bottom line is...
If u like the Neptunes production u will like this one.
If you don't stay light years away, cause it's 100% Star Trak..lol

Download it...
Buy it, whatever it's a coo kick back cd.

Ain't that the truth.. people talking about Snoop + Neptunes, when Neptunes + Nore is a 10 times tighter combo.. I didn't feel this track though, it was weak compared to "Full mode", "Grimey", "Superthug", "Nothin", "Head Bussa" etc..

i didnt feel this album at all. i want the time i spent listening to this album back.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

I'll just wait for the second N.E.R.D. album... "Clones" is pretty average with a few nice songs. :)

yeah i aint heard the cd but i wanna hear it, anyone who has respect for producers should respect neptunes for what theyve acheived.................but cuz they wanna work with artists of all genres...........they've sold out right?lololol........it was funny when someone said this.......

but yeah, neptunes and nore be sick like neptunes n kelis..............but i heard the beat they did for snoop, like hatesrat said, shits real simple but somehow the best producers in the game make the simple beats sound so much sicker............

how much u pay for the cd?

peace

I like the majority of this album. The production is very minimalistic but I grew to like it after a few listens. Only songs I didn't feel was those two bullshit punk rock tracks and "Hot". <--- Can that song's instrumental even be called a beat? It's unlistenable.

But those tracks are the exception and not the rule, as a whole the album is banging. I agree with Hatesrats though, if you hated The Neptunes beforehand this album isn't going to change your opinion of them. Lots of minimalistic and "experimental" production, 100% Neptunes... love it or fuckin' leave it alone.

Favorite track: Pharell f/ Clipse & Ab-Liva - "Blaze Of Glory" (I want a new Clipse album goddamnit :P)
