i need some help on acid pro

ok i bought the acid pro 4.0 and everything was installed fine but when i try to record, it doesn't work.. do i need a new mic or what problem could it be?? anybody who can help me out i'd be greatly appreciated

did u hook up the mic in both the spaces on the back because theres one spot for the sound and one for recording
