Police Want To Talk To 50 Cent

Posted September 11, 2003- Authorities in Jersey City, New Jersey are looking for 50 Cent in an ongoing investigating. 50 has five days to turn himself into police or an arrest warrant will be issued. It has been reported tha the rapper and his entourage of approximately 12 men were attempting to check into the Doubletree Hotel in Jersey City when shots range out about midnight on Sept. 10. At the crime scene, police found three shell casings from a .45-caliber automatic weapon and seven more from a .40-caliber gun, according to Jersey City Police Chief Ronald Buonocore.Advertisement

After the shooting, the entire group of men left the scene including the gunmen, who have yet to be identified. Still, some reports indicate that police have yet to confirm if 50 was actually at the hotel or if his entourage fired any of the shots.

Jersey City police are also reviewing a video surveillance tape with NYPD to identify those party to the crime and the members of 50's crew. The Doubletree's security force said they didn't see any of the shootout, which actually took place near their parking lot.

The authorities are investigating why it took the hotel officials over a half hour to call police about the gun fire.
According to the New York Daily News, the firefight occurred blocks away from where Ja Rule was filming a new film, "Cook Out," and are investigating a possible correlation. Last week, Murder Inc rapper D.O. Cannon was shot dead and an associate of 50 Cent was killed days before. Police have yet to establish a connection between either murder.

50 has been staying between the Jersey City Doubletree and the Hyatt while filming a music video. Reports state that Ja has also checked in at the Hyatt.

Police believe 50 is still in Jersey City hiding out.

At press time, no representatives for 50 or Ja Rule returned calls for comment.
