Paris interviews?
« on: September 12, 2003, 09:39:52 AM »
does anybody have any? i'm specifically looking for older ones that are from the time framewhen he dropped his first 4 albums. Thanks

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

The newer ones can be found here: http://www.guerrillafunk.com/press/

To read some older stuff I recommend to go to google.com and use a combination of words like Paris + Interview + "The Devil Made Me Do It".

Some other interviews (all of them are pretty new though)
http://www.contrabandit.com/Sounds/text/parisinterviewtext.htm
http://www.murderdog.com/archives/paris/paris.html
http://www.altrap.com/features/interviews/paris/paris.html

Unfortunately, I don't think there are a lots of old articles about him online. :(

Thanks for the help brother. I read a few of these on guerillafunk.com but i think a few of them i haven't seen. Also, theformula.com just did an interview with him on September 8. I read it a few minutes ago.

:o - Props! Didn't know that one. Reading it now.

Edit: Damn: "and in fact, all of my previous albums are being re-released as deluxe editions on November 18th (The Devil Made Me Do It, Sleeping With The Enemy, Guerrilla Funk, Unleashed Combo) with reworked lyrics and with digitized production - cleaned up and done the way that I always envisioned them. There were always people involved in the past in the manufacturing process that did things that I didn't know how to do, you know, like make the artwork." Hopefully, "Sleeping With The Enemy" will have its original cover! Can't wait to get my hands on these remastered records. ;D
