Smiles May Be More Important Than Fast Food Prices
A new study of the restaurant industry suggests poor service is catching up with fast food.
NFO WorldGroup took a look at traditional fast-food chains, such as McDonald's and Taco Bell, alongside the likes of Panera Bread, Subway and Boston Market.
The study found that customer loyalty may be tied more to service than typically thought and that the lure of value pricing is limited when service isn't delivered with a smile.
According to NFO WorldGroup, traditional quick-service restaurants, known in the trade as QSRs, are "failing to satisfy customers at a basic level."
A spokeswoman for the research firm said it suggests that the bar has been raised by the fast casual chains. She said further research is needed, but it looks like consumers would be willing to pay more for fast food if service is improved.
NFO also found that reasonable waiting times are important to customers, but they're willing to wait for freshly prepared meals at slightly more upscale outlets
Talking about those hateful ass bitches behind the counter.
