DJ Quik - Safe + Sound

Years and years of being too stingy to upgrade my 1995 cassette have come to an end after I found an £8.99 CD in the HMV sale...

'Something 4 Tha Mood' never sounded so good... ;)
something 4 tha mood is my favorite track on Safe & Sound  :P

Yeah, very dope track... first time for me hearing 'Tanquery' as well... not a bad track considering I'd read a few bad things about it...

Del -Both Sides of The Brain
Hieroglyphics - Third Eye Vision
Obie Trice - Cheers
Ice Cube - The Predator
various PE & Paris songs

Still waiting for Last Emp & Paris Sonic Jihad to arrive.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

DJ Quik - Safe + Sound

been in my system for days now... tried to eject it and it's as if  I can't physically bring myself to do it... I've always said Rhythm-al-ism was his best, but getting Safe + Sound on CD has really opened my eyes (ears?) to how fucking good the album is...

Best 'Quik's Groove', hands down...
