West Coast gangsta rap pumps companion CD to Activision's would-be GTA.

Don't like West Coast hip-hop? Then you better pump down the volume if you're going to play True Crime: Streets of LA.

The soundtrack CD for Activision's answer to Grand Theft Auto was revealed today, and while the GTA series opted for a variety of musical genres, the True Crime soundtrack will be straight-up gangsta. Twenty original tracks from West Coast rappers will be featured on the disc, produced by Koch Entertainment and Vybe Squad, Activision's music partners on the project.

The most famous name is the ubiquitous Snoop Dogg, who is joined by other current chart-toppers, like Westside Connection and DJ Quik. The soundtrack also includes new material from old names like Boo-Ya Tribe and Warren G.

The complete lineup of tunes is as follows:

11. Do Time - Pomona City Rydaz, Lil ½ Dead
12. Legends - Boo Ya Tribe-Battlecat
13. Don't Do Tha Crime (Trailer Theme) Kam feat. Cavie & Above the Law
14. They Don't Know - Dee Dimes Feat. Bigg Swoop
15. G'z Moving - Big Tray Deee, feat. Pomona City Rydaz
16. Flow - Sly Boogy
17. How We Live - Lil ½ Dead, Showtime, Kontroversy & Quicktomac

True Crime: Streets of LA is scheduled to start in on the carjacking November 4.

ummm, when bizzy bone and jayo are featured...then why is 40 not on it? tha man who waz "suppose" 2 be scheduled 2 appear on this accroding tha flyers that I picked up at this concert we waz at...

why is it majors alwayz against us? I dun care bout 40, I care bout him being an artist from north cali scheduled 2 appear 2 rep 4 us but cut out is what it looks like...no way U gone tell me he didn't meet deadlines or some shit for somethin this big...

That shit looks tight as hell, but Bizzy Bone? He ain't even from the West Coast. At least Jayo is from Dago even though he dicc rides LA HARD, so that's why he was probably on it. Anyways, can't wait for this to drop.

so what if they aren't from LA.  Snoop was on a song claiming to be part of NWA.  I'm sure both jayo and bizzy have been in LA plenty of times, I wouldn't even doubt if bizzy owned a home out there.  As long as they drop dope music I don't care.

Well somethin is wrong here.....They annouced a double album with 50 Tracks...they dropped a tracklisting of 20 tracks...U gonna tell me that the remaining 30 tracks are "greatest hits", furthermore...1 E-40 track is missing...Tha Big Saccs track with Steele is missing.....Anywayz when the releasedate comes they better drop those 50 tracks!

this is the biggest (well maybe not biggest, but most important) westcoast release this year....... PERIOD.  this will kick in the door and spread the music we've been listening to around to some new ears
