I liked it alot.  Unfortunately, I read a review and saw the YODA part coming, I wish I wouldn't have known what was gonna happen.  Even so, when he came creeping down the hallway, the place went NUTS!  They got a little Yoda chant going, and everybody was clapping.  When he pulled his robe away to show  his light saber, everybody freaked out again.  While he was fighting, people were screaming "OH SH*T!!!!"... it was pretty wild.  Applause got going at the beginning, and at the end of the movie, too.  The line that broke everybody up was when Obi Wan told Anakin  "You're gonna be the Death of Me".

BTW, I never had a problem with the first movie! I thought it was decent, Jar Jar didn't bother me at all.

And also, Palpatine is already evil.  The dark side clouded yoda's mind because the dark side was standing right next to him in the assembly chamber.  There are always 2 in the darkside, a teacher, and an apprentice, and that combo in this movie was already Sidious, and Dooku.  Dooku will remain the apprentice until Anakin takes his place in episode III.

And nito, the reason you walked right in on opening day last year, is because Episode I came out everywhere else in the world 3 years ago.  You musta caught a reissue.

OH sorry.  I saw it in May of '99, the day it dropped.  And I saw Ep. II before it even came out for the public.

Pretty tight.

I give the movie a 4/10.  The first hour and half are brutally boring and the actors lack chemistry.

I'd give it a 9 outta 10, but I'll admit, the acting wasn't top.  Anakin kinda annoyed me, actually, the way he kept talking all dreamy.  WTH.  And natalie portman did kinda crappy in a few parts too... most of it was probably the strange lines they had to say, though.   The love scene was kinda stupid, in my opinion, "IF you're suffering like me, please tell me" Please.

Saw it last night  -  some tight ish eventhough it bored the hell outta me sometimes and was hella corny. WTF was up with that shit with his momma why the hell was she abducted by those ? (can't remember what they were), held alive for a month all tied up and shit and then die when Anakin comes to save ??? and shit could those puns/jokes that 3po kept sayin be any more annoying. I'd give it a 8/10 - but thats because of that mega war between the droids and the clones/jedi and that ill fight between yoda and dooku   :o :o :o

they're tuskan raiders, the same ones luke gets beat by in ep4.

the 'mum' story shows how anakin missed her, and her murder and anger over it tips him towards the darkside, even though he feels remorse he loses his cool - un-jedi like... yoda would say 'hate leads to anger, anger leads to suffering... powerful the dark side is' hehe

Yeah 'seer I understood that much, but I just can't see what motive the tuskan raiders had? did she do something to them? were they needing a good cook? a sex-slave maybe? I didn't get their motivation for that act - esp. not the fact that she was kept alive for a month

anakin called the tuskan raiders animals.

i don't think they're that intelligent - probably used for sex but she'd been beaten badly too

I loved the movie, but I also thought that story was a little sloppy.  What are the odds that she would die within 2 minutes of him finding her, after 10 years?   Come on now.  I'm sure they're trying to say that she stayed alive long enough to see him, then died upon seeing her son alive and fine.

I was mad too, that they cut the scene out.  Supposedly, originally, they showed him run through the camp and kill everyone.  I guess it works better that they didn't, but it would have been a good excuse to show what he would become as Darth... he could have ran through and just showed a blinding rage, and show off that he's an excellent swordsman (didn't get a chance to show much later, really).  Oh well, I see both sides, that would have been a tough, tough call to edit that scene.  Sometimes I'm not good at editing stuff down.  I always want to put everything in, that's why my posts are so long.

I also, also agree that the acting was corny in some parts.  C3PO didn't bother me, because he's corny anyways.  I just watched ep. 4 today, and I wish they'd calm him down a little bit like at the beginning of that movie.  He sounded all logical, and soft spoken.

I think the good parts were so good, though, that it deserves a 9 outta 10.  I'm gonna go see it again today with my little brother.

Man, I was just reading up on some news for Ep. III and this shit is gonna be scary.

Looks like Hayden Christianson will reprise his role as Anakin and dawn the Vadar suit!   :o

Yup, and also Ewan McGregor said the battle atop the volcano with with Anakin and Obi Wan will be the greatest choreographed fight sequence in the history of filming.

Basically, this story will revolve around the demise of the Jedi, rise of the Empire and the birth of Liea and Luke along with Vadar.

Also, Lucas wants this to be the greatest SW film of the 6 since it will be the last.
