the indians an arabs bought one family houses an turned them into boarding houses. the neighborhood looks like shit now. all the shit that used to go on back in the day no longer goes on. like once a year they used to have this huge ass feast. it was actually called the feast lol. they dont have it no more. every 4th of july gotti had a firework show. no more. Back in the day even tho crime was higher than it is now you still felt safe b/c the crime that was goin on was organized crime. now u gotta watch back all the time. there was always stuff goin on. you could go out 3 in the mouring an u could find people chillin on there stoop. now its like a ghost town. there used to be so much goin on. now its dead an wreaks of curry. it is the definition of a shit hole

--- Quote from: Trauma on November 17, 2003, 10:19:35 PM ---^^ Tom, the united states can't let people play vigilante on the streets no matter who they're killing. It's against the law to kill, it doesn't matter who you kill. If you had owed him money, he would have killed you too.

hey you kno who your borrowing money from. if u did u bought it upon yourself. an hey when he was in charge a 70 year old woman could walk the street 1 in the mouring an not worry cuz people knew better than to come into gotti's territory. hell it was like that for where most organize crime families. hell now 70 year old woman dont feel safe walking in broad day light now

So, then, you have no problem with the government coming into your neighborhood and torturing and killing people who are late with their rent payment? You know you'd be the first in line trying to get Bush assasinated. What's the difference?

you know absolutly nothing about the mafia it aint even funny lol.

I know they kill people for money. That shit ain't right. He became a leader by killing somebody. That shit ain't right. I guess bush should have just paid to have Clinton killed, right? That's how you get power?

alot of ppl were not happy with big paul within the gambino family due to three main reasons
1) he was neva in the street so didn't understand it fully, which made made his soldier feal he was out of touch and weak.
2) The general change in mafioso's attitudes. the old conservative values no longer existed in that world. things like no drug dealing rules, loyalty (everyone turning government witness when they face a spot of bird) etc. Costallano understood and respected these values which came back from sicily but the americanised (puttin money first) soldiers and capos didn't respect them.
3) he was named boss by gambino who many people were upset with as most ppl espected dellacose (i forget his exact name so could be wrong) who was the underboss to become boss. Naming a sucessor is a dodgy way of doing things the best way is to get the capos to vote on a leader. On a side note when dellacose died i believe big paul named his schauffer as under boss or somink crazy like that.
also the other new york families wern't happy with paul over a cement scam (they imposed a tax on cement) they were running together because he was sciming extra money for himself.
ANd for those who think the mafia is so bad i suggest your read joe bonano's autobiography and his son's bill bonano (those are their translated american names their real names are guiseppi and salvator) It really goes into the true values of the mafia before it got americanised, mafia politics, and the extent the law enforcement angencies (two fbi agebts started a bombing campain on his house after he retired when it all came out they were given a slap on the wrist and dismissed. another incident was when the good old mayor ex mayor of NY was coming up he tried to get some publicity by leading the comission case which was based on nothing joe was in very bad health and was unable to attend so they baught the court room to his bed and i think he was done on a bullshit charge at the time he had been retired for some time and hadn't taken part in the commission since the 60s this was in the 80s). i mite add joe bonano was boss of the bonano family since the late 20s till the late 60s when he retired up intill after he was retired he was never charged with anything. he was the voice of reason on the commision and helped keep the peace on many occassions.
two of the best books i've ever read.
