I just hate people obsessing over some underground artist who's had 4 or 5 songs out (um... crook), and then they've never even gotten into guys like this that are some of the most consistant people ever to record

Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra didn't write a lot of they're own songs tho.  I think (don't quote me on this) Bobby Darin wrote for them a lot ("Mack The Knife" is dope).  Still that doesn't take away from the whole presence the entire rat pack had.

Yeah, they were vocalists, they didn't write any of their stuff.  Elvis also didn't write anything he performed.  Of course, back in the day, hardly anybody wrote their own material.  Smokey Robinson was about the first!
