Twista's Kamikaze debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts.

The album, powered by the Kanye West produced hit single "Slow Jamz," which also features Jamie Foxx, moved over 312,000 copies.

According to Billboard, the album almost matches the to-date sales of Twista's 1998 release Mobstability.

The album has moved a total of 397,000 copies.

Kamikaze was the only album to move over 100,000 units according to chart data.

The release pushed Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which moved 85,000 more copies last week, to #2.

According to AHH Twista sold over 30.000 units more than Tha G In Deee said. Ridiculous, that he nearly sold in the first week as much as he sold with "Mobstality" in about five years Shows how much hype big-name producers/features can bring up for an album. But he definitely deserves it...

Damn, Twista has really blown up with this one. To me, he's an acquired taste. I first heard him on a track with Royce Da 5' 9" off of the original version of my 'Rock City' album. I thought he was okay. Nothing special, but I've never really liked such fast paced rapping - it makes it impossible for me to understand what the hell they're talking about, but then again maybe that's because I'm too used to Snoop's style!

I've heard a few tracks by him since, but haven't heard the 'Kamikaze' album, with the exception of 'Slow Jamz' which seems impossible to avoid right now. But for a rapper who has been around for a while and has released records who have made no lasting impact sales-wise, those units are crazy. I'm not saying they're better (their album was pretty shoddy IMO) but Twista's numbers must be close to that of G-Unit's debut CD first week's, and bear in mind that G-Unit had the backing of man-of-the-moment 50 Cent. Insane...no offence meant, but I can't understand how Twista suddenly blew up like this

Odd that you say production makes the sales as 90% of the people you ask will not know who produced anything on the radio. Radio air play,image,tv spots and other good promotional ploys are what make sales. If production made albums sales wise then we would be lookin' at a whole different game. -T

^^^that thers the truth homies, it sold well cuz of the single kanye laced him with, it helped sales bigtime.........great for twista though, thats amazing 1st week sales for him.......for most artists

It's a dope album too. It sounded like I'm only sayin' Slow Jamz was tight and that's it but nah, almost every track is hot.
