LoL I was bored so I listed the USE

Armenia, Azerbaijan et al, are Asian countries. The former Soviet countries that would qualify are:

Russia (and Konigsberg/Kalinin)
Ukraine
Moldavia
Belorussia
Latvia
Estonia
Lithuania

Along with all the satellites except Mongolia...Which at different points in time was a republic and a seperate state.

Also, you missed out the Vatican, Monaco and San Marino. Also, the Dnestrian Republic-a semi independent part of Moldavia-and the Faero Islands...And indeed, the Isle of Man, which is, in effect, fully independent. By the way, Lichtenstein falls into the same category as Monaco and San Marino and the Faeroes. It is a semi independent part of Austria, or Germany. I forget which.

The Vatican definitely doesn't qualify, I would doubt Monaco does, San Marino?  I'm not sure, they're an independent country in football terms but are they recognised as a real country or are they just like Andorra?

And I thought Denmark owned the Faeroes?

Denmark is ruler of the Faeroes, but they are semi-independent...As are San Marino, Monaco and Lichtenstein. All are ruled by another state, but are technically different countries. The Isle of Man counts as part of Britain by that marker, but I listed it out of completeness.

The Vatican qualifies better than all of those listed in my little snippet there, but would never join the USE(people) because it is a neutral state.

Hell, by our current markers in having the countries of the UK seperate from each other, remove Yugoslavia, and add instead:

Serbia
Montenegro
The semi autonomous states of Voyvodina and Kosovo

As it is the exact same form as the UK.

How can you say that though?  The international community doesn't recognize the autonomous and divided states of Yugoslavia as seperate countries, whereas Scotland IS recognised as a seperate country.
