Some suggestions for soulful/hiphop party tunes
« on: February 23, 2004, 07:39:20 AM »
I'm looking for some dope tracks sung by females to add to a cd i'm putting together for a party which are along the lines of:

Lucy Pearl - Don't Mess With My Man
Alicia Keys - Girlfriend
Lauren Hill - Dat Thing

Songs that are soulful but still real danceble.

Also I'm looking for some good old school slow jams to follow well "Slow Jamz". I'm gonna put Marvin Gaye - Lets Get It On straight after it, and then I really need 1 track each by Luther Vandross, Anita Porter (i'm guessing that is who they were refering to with "a little anita will definitely set this party on fire"), and then 1 or 2 other old school slow jams.

Any suggestions?

I can't think of soulful tracks sung by females right now but I can give you some suggestions for those "old school slow jams":

Barry White - Just The Way You Are
Barry White - I've Got So Much To Give
The Stylistics - You Are Everything
Billy Paul - Me & Mrs Jones
...

^^^^Now that was music :)

Thanks, I'd heard the Barry White ones before, but they were all real tight.

Anyone else got any suggestions?
