LET'S GO OAKLAND!!!
Smooth:
I'd say the Cubs and A's have 2 of the best pitching staff's in baseball... in Oakland you got Hudson, Mulder, and Zito, and even Redman's not to bad... and in Chicago you got Kerry Wood, Prior (2 of the best) Maddux, and a few others... it's actually a toss up in my opinion... we're gonna have to wait till deeper in the season before we can really tell.

--- Quote from: M Dogg on April 08, 2004, 07:45:47 PM ---please... the Angels are gonna smash on all the AL West. Oaktown is only good for a few things, rap and football. Fuck there baseball squad. They ain't been shit since Steriod head Giambi shook the spot to broadway. The Angels are gonna go back to the World Series and take back what's theirs. Angels are the new dynesty out, pleezbaleevit.

hahaha yeah right, Oaktown is gonna smash on the angels, they got the best rotation in both leauges. oakland good for football? hahahhahahaha. can you say worst record in the leauge?

First of all the Raiders will be at least 8-8 next year and will still be better than the Chargers just like every year. Second, the Cubs now have the best rotation in the Majors, especially when Prior comes back.
--- End quote ---
really, I'm glad you can tell the future.
and cubs do not have a better rotation than the A's, you obviously don't know baseball. Look at the statistics buddy. I'm not even gonna bother arguing that one, its a fact, whether you wanna believe it, is up to you.
and I wasn't gloating about their win against the rangers, I'm a die hard A's fan and I'll root for them til the day I die.

So you mean to tell me that you no more about baseball than ESPN's Peter Gammons who has said at one point that the Cubs do have the best rotation in baseball? And other baseball guys have said that the Red Sox, and Astros have a better rotation becasue of who they got in the offseason.
--- End quote ---
dude, so fuckin what if one espn guy has said that. For the last 4 years the A's big 3 have been the top doggs and led the A's to the playoffs, and won the west for the last 2 years. The cubs had one good year last year, before that their pitching was nothin to call home about. It's a pointless arguement. We will just have to wait till the end of the season.

Key word is lead them to the playoffs, they haven't lead them past the first round ever. the A's get up on a series 2-1 in a 5 game series and end up losing the series. And if you look at the stats from all of those years, its been the pitching which has let down the A's in the post season.
hector:
^^^^LOL, you are a dumbass. Its the pitching that have gotten the A's everything, pitching and defense. It's their offense that has lost them the games, and not lead them past the first round. Last year Tejada and Chavez, the A's best hitters had a combined amount of hits for the 5 game series of about 5 or less hits. You have no idea what you are talking about dogg. The A's pitching was great throughout the playoffs, and the whole season, they just couldn't get the bats going. And at least they have gotten to the playoffs the past 4 years, unlike the cubs. Plus last year in the playoffs Mulder was hurt and couldn't play, that was a huge stab to the A's. Not to mention other bad shit goin wrong, such as Byrnes not touching homeplate or that Red Sox guy gettin in the way of Tejada when he was rounding 3rd base.
hector:
Oh and the Texas Rangers, which you claimed was nothing to gloat about beating, just beat the Angels 12-4. Texas didn't even score half that many runs in 3 games against the A's. Please learn your baseball before discussing it with me.

You're calling me a dumbass when I just give the true facts. That's being a dumbass. If you look at the A's recent playyoff history, the A's have averaged more runs in the playoffs than their season average. It's the pitccing that has let them down a bit in the playoffs because Oaklnad has been averaging more runs in the playoffs than they have during the season the last few years. Dumbass!
