History Lesson:
When Hendrix first went into the military, he sold his guitar (pawned it). IN the military, he went down to a bar all the time, and the guys used to let him play (because he'd beg them)... but they wouldn't let him restring their guitar, so he'd play it right handed. He could even play it upside down, left handed, with the bass string on the bottom. Guy was a genius, he played right handed sometimes... so maybe it was just a certain scene they shot where he played right handed. You won't know what's going on until they release the movie.
Shallow:
Jimi "could" also play with his teeth. The point is if you watch many of the performances, one of his trademarks was that he played a right handed guitar upside down in his early days. According to the article on mtv.com Andre will play right handed and then the screen will be flipped to appear he is playing left handed, also making it look like a left handed guitar. There fore it will not be a right handed guitar played upside down like I've seen Jimi play so many times.

So what...If the movie makes it appear that he's playing left handed, then that's good enough.
