Ghostface--"Bulletproof Wallets"

<< < (2/2)

Tha_Chill:
On first listen this CD sounds better than Supreme Clientele.  I haven't gotten through the whole CD yet, but I feel the beats sound a lot more crisp and perfected than some of those on SC, but as I said, I haven't gotten through the whole CD and there may be some beats and songs that don't seem like they fit.  So far I'd give this 4.5/5, it could get worse though, but with it being Ghost and him being the lyricist he is I doubt it could drop due to him, maybe some of the songs won't fit.

Tha_Chill:
I just thought I'd add my initial thoughts to the CD since I don't have time to write my own reviews.

Siberian_Wolf:
Yo let me spit something about this CD. This album is brilliant and it doesn’t sell shit and that’s sad. Maybe this thread will turn some heads to it as I revitalize it.

01 – Intro – just like in both Raekwon’s albums. Nice one – 3,0
02 – Maxine f/Rae – Some powerful shit right here, just like the tracks No.2 in Cuban Linx and Ironman albums. A speedy storytelling that takes yo breath away. – 4,0
03 – Flowers f/Rae, Meth & Superb of American Cream Team – I love this RZA beat, kinda playful but sick as ffuck. And you know they rhyme well, too. – 4,0
04 - Never Be The Same Again w/Carl Thomas & Rae – Well, the song is pop, the drums are soft as a young girl’s ass, but it’s sooo smooth you wont be disappointed. Ghost manages to address the lyrics to girls and stay grimy. – 4,0
05 – interlude – A very funny one with Ghost awfully singin. A LMFAO type shit. 3,0
06 – Theodore f/Trife & Twiz – The kinda beat I  love for Ghost, reminds me of Ghost Deini, Fish, Box In Hand, Malcolm etc. That n***a Trife is really good on the mic! – 4,5
07 – Ghost Showers – A clone of Cherchez Laghost. Nice one. If they don’t release it as a single, the CD will totally sink. – 4,0
08 – Strawberry – f/Killah Sin, w/ RZA & Allah Mathematics. – A fuckin tite azz beat yall, really raw. Ghost spits some shit similar to Wildflower, totally misogynistic. RZA & Mathematics (the man that designed the Wu-logo and my personal fav wu-producer after RZA) talk funny about Ghost bustin a nut. – 4,5
09 – The Forest f/Raekwon – archaic Alchemist beat, Ghost turns cartoon characters into crackheads and prostistutes. – 4,0
10 – The Juks f/ Superb & Trife – Both guests do really good battling, some raw street stuff for yall. Ghost is magic once again. Alchemist designed an interesting beat. – 4,0
11 – Walking Thru The Darkness (RMX) f/ Tekitha – This waas originally from Ghost Dog sdtrk, but nofuckinbody bought it, so RZA reused it. Ghost turned a sleepy song into a hyped-up one. You no, he’s always fire. Tekitha’s vocals are silky. – 4,0
12 – Jealousy – A nice skit with hazardous vocal loop.- 3,5
13 – The Hilton f/Raekwon – Fuck, the dynamic duo once again spits some carefully designed movie script stuff. Art of storytelling at its finest. - 4,5
14 – Ice - A microscopic song with beat similar to intros of JayZ’s and Nas’s albums. – 4,0
15 – Love Session f/Ruff Endz – A laidback song, just a good one. Unnecessary trip to the ladies’ world. – 3,5
16 – Street Chemistry – f/ Prodical & Trife – A wonderful beat , RZA followed the traditions of Heaven & Hell and Nutmeg. Listen and climax. – 4,5

I wont talk much, I’ll just say that if this CD was released in 1995, we’d all be worshippin it 10 years from now. A true WuTang banger from first to last second. No medium songs, only superb stuff. Ghost is God. 8,5 outta 10.
