Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

To be honest, I don't know a lot of Bowie songs...I like "Fame" though.

Great topic.

My favorite David Bowie track is "Starman".  GREAT song, if you haven't heard it, it's a perfect example of what I call "Glam Rock".  Spacehog owe a lot to David Bowie, for example.

My second favorite David Bowie song would be "Ziggy Stardust".  Great song, awesome guitar hook.

Ziggy Stardust is another favorite of mine. Absolutely incredible, that's a great album too.
