^^
What the topic says. Tried opening it yesterday but I just couldn't get it to work even though I supposedly unblocked it, it still would only connect through I local IP (meaning unless your in my house connected to the router you can gain access)

i do this. u have to open ports 21 and 20, and forward them to the machine thats running the server. protocol is TCP.

hmm..
i had a weird prob with mine a few months back (altho it had been running fine for like a year) where i had to remove the setting entirely, and add it again to get it working.. v odd.. esp. considering the router and the machine it forwards to (in my garage
) is on 24/7.. it was fine for 19 days, then fucked up.. so far its been around 28 days since i had to fix it *touch wood*
other than that.. maybe get the people connecting to turn on/off PASV mode can't remember how that affects it, but i've had to mess with it in the past.

You have to open filter sets in your router as well, for port 20 or 21..
