take off the self produced and denaun porter tracks, and he could make his best album since the sslp...
I'm still waiting to hear that track ''Showtime'' by Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Eminem. It was SUPPOSED to be on Banks' album...
Quote from: smartass on June 30, 2004, 06:00:22 PMtake off the self produced and denaun porter tracks, and he could make his best album since the sslp...That makes no sense. Okay you can take off Denaud, but Eminem produced or at least co produced all but 4 tracks on his first album. He's fine producer. Ofcourse you probably don't know what a producer is. (not meant to be an insult)
hell no I dont wish a Eminem CD so be like that. It plain sucks. Fuck Halie. Fuck Kanye. Fuck Denaun. Fuck those skits. Fuck rapping about Kobe. Fuck Real Slim Shady-Type Singles. Fuck D-12. Fuck back to Slim Shady. Fuck this tracklist. It's in no fucking way different to his former Albums. Ive expected something original, something new. Hell he dont even produce much himself. And where's Tech N9ne, Jay-Z, etc. Is this concept scrapped?Hope to god this is fake as hell with not 1 true thing in it.

Then I told you he produced almost every track on the SSLP. So how does your claim make sense? Atleast Eminem works along side musicians and creates original peices of music on his tracks. 99% of the time DRE just steals someone else's composition and and gets his musicians to replay it. All guys like Kanye do is sample a song, loop it, and then adjust the pitch. That isn't composing, and it's not producing. The producer's purpose is to guide the record and give the artist opinions on how to improve it. The producer's job is not, and I repeat NOT, to "make the beat" as most rap fans confuse it. Eminem is a fine producer who brings consitency to his own albums. I've not seen him produce enough for other artists for me to judge so I'll wait till later to comment on how good he makes others. Dre can sometimes make others sound a lot better and sometimes not. For the record, I hope Em produces the whole album himself, along with the usuals; Bass, King, and Resto. When they come together they bring consistency to an album.

I forgot who said it, but it is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. The drums and base are up to the music writer not the producer. What do you think Rock bands do? Come in with just lyrics and a guitar solo and let the producer come up with the rest? Well they don't. A producer is supposed to do things like raise the volume of certain instruments at certain times and give the band pointers on how to make the track better. I said this in my last post, but you obviously didn't see it. A producer does not do the programming for the drums or bass. Once he does he is no longer the producer, he becomes part of the song writing team, which is quite common, but it is not producing. A producer uses techniques to make the voice sound nicer, or have the instruments double and over lap, not write the music for the song."Hiring a ghost writer". This is actually what all rap producers are doing when they sample. They take some one else's music that was written by the artist sampled and they pass it off as their own. Who ever said that quote needs to get slapped in the face. Now what would ever give you the impression that Em produces for other artists for free? You really think he would take time out of his day to work with Jay Z or Nas and not get paid. Are you insane?

Are you insane?we aren't talking about rock producers, now are we? haha @ the producer not doing the drum programming, are you making up this bullshit on the fly? the only thing usually not done by the producer, is cuts, or keys(which will be done by an actual keyboardist). my man has his own studio, and has worked with high profile artists, id think id know a little something considering i have watched him plenty of times before. lol @ sampling being when an artist samples something to try and pass it off as their own. i guess you never heard shook ones 2? thats the best sample ever flipped(do you know what that is?) in rap history. it sounds nothing like the original piece, but thats where havoc got his idea from. you seem ignorant as fuck to rap music, im wondering do you even listen to it? eminem said himself that when he gives his beats out to someone, he has to respect them, so, they get them for free. i wouldn't take an eminem beat if he begged me. only good thing he ever did, was the use of that soul sample, on the dying to live track.
