Do you mean the US not being able to pass a second resolution because they knew that the other Security Council members didn't believe that there was WMD in Iraq?

The U.N.'s job is to keep the peace in the world. We have not been acting in a peaceful way. When Bill Clinton was president, we had a great relationship with the U.N. and help them in conflects. With Bush, he does what he wants and we have a shitty relationship with the U.N. I hate to break it to you, but there is someone bigger than the U.S., and that's the World. There are 6 billion people in this world, there is something bigger than us after all.

Why should it be a governemtns respoonsibility to help the world? If you care so much about whats happening around the world then you hop on a plane and take care of what you feel needs to be helped.

In reality to keep the events of WW2 from happening again, and to provide a place for nations to come together in agreement.
