My Comments on the Dodger/Marlin trade.
« on: August 03, 2004, 01:20:19 PM »
90% of the fans are extremely pissed for trading Paul Lo Duca, Guillermo Mota, and Juan Encarnacion.  I fall in the 10%.

This is the new dodger OF

when facing a Left handed pitcher the OF's are  Werth-Finley-Bradley with Green at First.
When facing Right handed pitcher the OF's are  Bradley-Finley-Green with Choi at First.  What an improvement at OF.  We added depth and power, and got younger with Choi. Nice.  Choi is 25 and has a High OBP, and will make an impact.

At Dodger stadium, Brad Penny will pitch really good.  At Pro Player stadium he would give up too many doubles,  thats not gonna happen at Dodger Stadium.  if he countinues to pitch the same he will have an even lower era and be the SP leader along with Odalis Perez.

Of course our bullpen did get weaker with Mota gone.  But with Wilson Alvarez back in the bullpen, we shouldnt be hurting too much.  Wilson Alvarez-Duaner Sanchez-Carrara-Dreiffort to Gagne is still a very damn good bullpen.

There was a good chance Lo Duca would have been gone next year due to arbiration. But it is still sad to see Lo Duca gone although he is 32.

Props to Paul De Podesta,  not only did he made the team better, he started a rebuilding process at the same time!  WOW!

Go Dodgers 2004 and beyond mudafuckas!
