The rapper’s fashion sense has been the topic of debate for years with zany wigs and outfits but it’s recently been accepted by the mainstream.

The list of people was compiled by fashion experts and included a comprehensive search of individuals from across the globe.

“We scanned every square mile of the globe, from the tip of Africa to the beaches of Mexico," Esquire editors released via a statement. “What we found was a group of men who take getting dressed in the morning to another level, their individuality made manifest in everything from a luxurious bespoke suit to a basic pair of jeans. We can learn something about style from each of them, especially the one man who landed at the top of our list.”

Others included in the list were the likes of Prince Felipe of Spain, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Hip-Hop producer Pharrell Williams, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and many others.

In the September issue, Andre said his style is inspired by “The Great Gatsby” movie and the fashion of the mature men in his old neighborhood. "To me, [style is] anything that feels comfortable and expresses your personality and makes you stand a little taller."

Last month, Andre was bestowed with another award, the “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian,” in addition to his many music-based honors with OutKast.
