Snoop's lost tapes.....
« on: September 26, 2002, 11:05:33 PM »
Damn snoop got too many unreleased songs and i really hope he will release these songs one day.....he can put out an huge double album only with his unreleased songs.
Like ice cube did with "bootleg & besides" or the recent (but too short!) "Lost tapes" by nas.
Songs like "Purple","No Backtrackin","Sunshine","Crampin My steez","21st street" are classic and still unreleased.
Do u think snoop will released these songs one day ?

these songs are owned by varying labels etc...

death row put a few unreleased tracks on the greatest hits LP and dpg 2002.

for example... on greatest hits

9.  Eastside   ( Death Row eastsiders)
12.  Too High (Poly High)
14.  Usual Suspects
15.  Keep It Real   (known as Party People to most)

on dpg 2002

i knew i'd miss one  :D

another thing.. while we're here.

lots of 'unreleased' stuff isnt at all.... its just that these MP3 fiends don't know about the stuff... e.g. 'nuthin but a g thang bitches aint shit remix' isnt unreleased, its actually nuthing but a g thang freestyle remix or club remix.. i forget which of the two... and it was on the 12''.

I dont think "Purple","No Backtrackin","Sunshine","Crampin My steez","21st street" are owned by varying labels....but part of snoop's masters. He could really drop an huge album with these songs plus other unreleased cuts that we dont know....
labels aren't a problem this time.

I dont understand why snoop dont wanna put out his unreleased tracks.....he knows fans luv 'unreleased' material.
Which is the problem ?
Somebody can put a list of all the snoop non-death row unreleased tracks  ?

Does snoop own them?  probably not

(rest is my speculation based upon what i've been told, read over the last few years)

So.. are they are owned by Priority.

As I understand it From Death Row thru No Limit to now, ultimately Priority owns stuff... and up until Last Meal Death Row got a cut.

If these tracks still unreleased would have to be snoops own songs

NO.

not if they were recorded during studio time paid for by the record label then the label owns them.

Don't forget alot of these tracks have samples that didn't clear so that could keep alot of these unreleased tracks from ever seeing that light of day...

Snoop got his own studio before "the last meal period"....
