from what i understood from his lyrics. Halie is HIS daughter (meaning....well you know what i mean), and laney is either kims child from another guy, or an adopted daughter, but not fully his.

it's his niece. He talks about her in that Rolling Stone interview. I don't know what the deal is beyond that.

I just thought that it might be the daughter of Em's uncle who died not too long ago. Not sure though...
