What Makes Rap Songs Weak Or Tight?

--- Quote from: Trauma on November 24, 2004, 01:06:08 AM ---Even if you go back and look @ old songs you know you like, you'll probably find they have an awesome bassline, even if you never paid attention to it. It's not just rap like that, either. That's why everybody loves the Beatles, Paul McCartney was a fuckin' KICK ASS bass player.

KING VerbalAssaulta:
production/beats for me..its half the reason i listen to hip hop...an awesome beat can make a bad rapper sound good, and a good rapper have great songs(50 cent, emeniem)
The Watcher:
the feel of the song. you can have dope lyrics and beat.. but if the mc's flow is shit or whatever, aslong as you got a feel for the song then it's dope. an mc can have shit lyrics, but a dope flow and beat, and if it feels good, that's all that matters
Westside Soldier:
what make rap songs go is the energy and story into it.
waht makes them crap are shit lyricss like this one give me what yah got for a pork chop.
